After a hearty breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters where you will receive a briefing on gorilla trekking from the knowledgeable and experienced park rangers. This briefing will cover everything from safety precautions to the dos and don'ts of gorilla trekking.
As you make your way through the misty forests, you'll hear the sounds of the wild and feel the adrenaline rush as you get closer to the gorillas. This lush forest is home to several habituated gorilla families, and your experienced guide will lead you on a trek through the misty vegetation to find them. As you approach the gorillas, you'll be struck by their sheer size and power, yet their gentle nature will leave you awestruck
Finally, after a rigorous trek, you will locate the gorillas, and the exhilaration of seeing them up close in their natural habitat will leave you spellbound. For one hour, you will be allowed to observe and photograph them, watching as they go about their daily lives, playing, eating and interacting with one another.
After a successful trek, you'll return to your lodge for a much-needed lunch break, where you can share your experience with fellow travelers and relish in the satisfaction of a successful gorilla trek. But the adventure doesn't stop there.
In the evening, you'll have the chance to explore the Diana Fossey Tombs and Kariosoke research center, where you can learn more about the late primatologist and her conservation efforts in the region. Here, you will learn about the life and work of the legendary primatologist and her pioneering conservation efforts.
