Your Kofi safaris guide will meet you very early in the morning and transport you to Moroto, the metropolis of Karamoja, in the extreme east of Uganda. The Karamajong are a semi-nomadic pastoralist community from northeastern Uganda. The Karamajong are noted for their ruthlessness; the name "Karimoja" refers to "the elders who stayed behind," alluding to the time when different tribes dispersed to other locations in search of food and water for their animals. The Karamajong moved from Ethiopia and separated into two groups: the Kalenjins and the Masai of Kenya. Another tribe known as the Atekers went west and separated into other groups, including the Turkana, Dodoto, Karamojong, and Jie of South Sudan.

Looking for a secluded national park to explore in Uganda? Kidepo Valley National Park is a great option. Located in northeast Uganda, the park is surrounded by beautiful landscapes. After arriving, you may have time for an afternoon game drive through the Narus Valley to see herds of elephants and buffalo. You may also spot lions and leopards perched on the various rocks that dot the valley floor.

You'll go on a morning and evening game drive at Kidepo Valley National Park today. There are 475 bird species including the Abyssinian Roller, Black-breasted Barbet, Grey-capped Warbler, Red-throated Bee-eater, White-winged Widowbird, and Yellow-billed Duck. and over 80 animal species in the Kidepo Valley, including lions, ostriches, zebras, bat-eared foxes, werewolves, caracals, cheetahs, and bigger and smaller kudus. The park is home to some of Africa's most magnificent wilderness areas, including grasslands, savannahs, and forests. The park was ranked first on CNN's list of Africa's Best National Parks. The park is an excellent location for exploring and seeing the splendor of Uganda's wildlife.

On day 5 of our journey, we will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park and take in the incredible sights along the way. We will be amazed by the stunning views, as we drive through the small villages of Uganda. Our journey will be filled with adventure and excitement, we will be sure to take plenty of photos and videos to capture the beauty of the surrounding areas.

Murchison Falls National Park is a stunningly beautiful park located in Uganda. It is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, hippos and many more. On your morning game drive, a professional guide with in-depth knowledge of the park and its people will join you in your vehicle. A morning game drive is a great way to explore the park and get up close and personal with the animals. After a morning game drive, an afternoon boat cruise on the Nile River is a great way to relax and take in the scenery. The boat cruise takes you to the base of Murchison Falls, where you can witness the powerful cascade of water as it plunges into the Nile. The park is also home to a variety of birds, including the rare shoebill stork, so be sure to bring your binoculars for some bird watching. With its diverse wildlife, stunning scenery, and tranquil atmosphere, Murchison Falls National Park is an ideal destination for an unforgettable African safari.

Today, you embark on a trek to Kibale's beautiful forest. The drive is breathtakingly beautiful, traveling through tea plantations and green landscape typical of Uganda. When you reach the forest, you will discover an entirely other globe monkey business! Kibale Forest National Park is a lush tropical forest located just beyond the colonial settlement of Fort Portal. Because of the serious monkey activity that takes place in this park, it is regarded one of Uganda's main highlights. A great number of resident primates may be found here, and a visit to one of the habituated chimp groups is a very unique experience. The uncommon red colobus monkey, as well as the black and white colobus monkey, red-tailed monkey, olive baboon, blue monkey, and Host monkeys, may all be observed here on a regular basis. Feel the forest and pay attention to the many noises. Your safari lodge is surrounded by a variety of beautiful foliage that is home to several bird and butterfly species.

Chimpanzees have 98% of our DNA, making them our closest living relatives. They are present in 21 African nations, although due to their large population, they are most frequently noticed in Uganda. In Uganda, there are around 5,000 wild chimps left. The Chimpanzee Trekking adventure is carried out on numerous well-maintained trekking trails. There is also a tremendous diversity of other primates, more than in any other East African forest. Aside from our cute chimp cousins, there are red colobus, red-tailed guenon, white-nosed monkey, cheeked mangabey gray monkeys, blue monkey, L'Hoest's monkey, and black and white colobus monkeys. Olive baboons, bush infants, and nocturnal pottos can also be seen. In the afternoon, you will take a community walk and a plantation visit of coffee.

Today is a special day! We are transferring to Bwindi National Park via the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park to experience the unique opportunity of seeing tree-climbing lions and other wildlife in the park. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to observe the tree climbing lions in their natural habitat. This is one of only 2 places in Africa where lions can be seen climbing trees. You will also see many animals including monkeys, birds, antelopes, etc., and we are excited to explore the park and take in all the beauty that it has to offer. We are sure to have an unforgettable experience, and can't wait to get started!

Gorilla trekking at Bwindi National Park in Uganda is an unforgettable experience. This World Heritage Site is home to half of the world's population of mountain gorillas and is one of the most biologically diverse areas in the world. Trekking through the dense rainforest of Bwindi is an adventure in itself, and the chance to observe these majestic animals in their natural habitat is a truly unique experience. With a permit, visitors can spend an hour with the gorillas, observing their behavior and learning about their social dynamics. It is an experience that will stay with you forever. This trek can be difficult at times, and it requires someone who is quite strong. Hikers are generally encouraged to bring raincoats and boots because the weather is unpredictable here. There are also potters who constantly help guests with their bags at a low cost. When you find the gorillas, the rangers will show you how to handle them, notably by keeping a space of 6 meters between you and them as you entertain them. It is not always simple to forecast how long gorilla tracking will take, and it also relies on the location of specific families, as some are located far from the park headquarters. However, it still takes 2-8 hours to get in touch with them and rangers will always be there to guide you. It is also advisable for trackers to be in good physical condition before leaving for the follow-up. After your hike, return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon set off for an experience of Batwa culture. The Batwa people are an indigenous group of people found in Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. They are known for their unique culture and way of life. The Batwa are a hunter-gatherer society, relying on the forest for their subsistence. They have a deep connection to the land and its resources, and have a rich oral tradition that is passed down from generation to generation. The Batwa are also known for their traditional music and dance, which is used to celebrate important occasions and to tell stories. They have a strong sense of community and are very welcoming to visitors. They are a reminder of the importance of preserving and protecting the environment, and their culture is a reminder of the importance of respecting and appreciating the diversity of cultures around the world.

Today marks the 11th day of our journey through Uganda, and we are now making our way to Lake Mburo National Park. This park is a unique gem in Uganda, as it is the only national park in the country that is home to a large population of impala. Other wildlife that can be found here include zebras, warthogs, elands, buffaloes, and over 300 species of birds including the African finfoot, African fish eagle, black-billed barbet, brown-chested lapwing, crested francolin, and the purple-throated cuckoo-shrike. The park also provides an important habitat for the rare shoebill stork, as well as the rare papyrus yellow warbler. Other species of birds that can be found in the park include the African grey parrot, African skimmer, black-headed gonolek, black-headed weaver, and the white-winged warbler. Lake Mburo National Park is a great destination for bird-watchers, as it offers a wide variety of bird species to observe. There are also several wetlands and swamps that make up the park, providing a great habitat for many animals Despite its tiny size, Lake Mburo National Park's greatest advantage is the diversity of its natural ecosystems. Explore broad savannahs, rocky outcrops, and arid hills, lakes and swamps, and the big acacia forest... Lake Mburo, the reserve's main body of water, huddles between rivers and marshes in the middle. So many vistas await you, as well as an abundance of animals that will not fail to lift your spirits.

Today is day 12 and the end of our amazing journey! We are all excited to be transferring to Entebbe Airport to catch our flight back home. After experiencing the beauty of this foreign land, you will be filled with a mix of emotions We know that the memories we have made here will be with you forever, and we look forward to you sharing your stories with those back home.
