Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), our dedicated African Big Cats Safaris representative will warmly welcome you and escort you to your accommodation in Arusha. Optional pre-tour accommodations can be arranged for those arriving early, ensuring a comfortable start to your adventure.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Following an early breakfast, embark on a journey to Tarangire National Park, named after the iconic Tarangire River. Marvel at the dense vegetation, including elephant grass and acacia woodlands, providing sanctuary to diverse wildlife. Witness the spectacle of elephant families congregating by the river, alongside giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. Explore the park's rich avian diversity, with more breeding bird species than anywhere else on the planet. After a delightful packed lunch, retire to your accommodation for an evening of relaxation amidst the wilderness.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park

Set off early after breakfast for the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and natural marvel housing endangered black rhinos and thriving lion populations. Descend into the crater's depths, encountering vast herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles amidst stunning landscapes. After a thrilling wildlife experience, enjoy a packed lunch before proceeding to the legendary Serengeti National Park. Indulge in dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the untamed beauty of the Serengeti.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park to Karatu

Begin the day with an early breakfast, embarking on an exhilarating game drive in the Serengeti's vast expanses. Witness the renowned migration herds of zebras, wildebeests, and antelopes, alongside prowling predators like leopards, cheetahs, and lions. After a mesmerizing exploration, return to Karatu for dinner at a carefully selected mid-range lodge, offering relaxation by the pool and comfortable accommodations for a restful night under the African sky.

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before a short drive to Lake Manyara National Park, famed for its diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife. Encounter monkeys, giraffes, zebras, and more against the backdrop of the scenic salt lake, home to thousands of flamingos. Explore the park's woodland and cliff habitats before concluding your safari adventure. Return to Arusha after a packed lunch, marking the end of an unforgettable journey filled with wildlife encounters and natural wonders.

We went on a 2-week safari in western Uganda (Lake Bunyoni, gorilla trekking, rafting, Victoria NP, chimp trekking and 8-day hike in the Rwenzori Mountains). It was an extremely varied and wonderful trip. The planning and organization by KTS was great, the team made a lot of effort and responded to all of our requests. The support was excellent.
