Arrive at Kigali International Airport in the morning, where you will be greeted by your driver-guide. After a brief meet-and-greet and orientation about the trip, you will begin your Kigali city tour.

Start your city tour with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where you can learn about the tragic history of the Rwandan Genocide and the resilience of the Rwandan people. Next, explore Kimironko Market, a bustling local market where you can see a variety of goods, from fresh produce to traditional crafts. End the city tour with a visit to the Inema Art Center, where you can admire contemporary Rwandan art and interact with local artists. Enjoy a delicious meal at a local restaurant.

After lunch, depart Kigali around 2:00 PM for a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The drive will take you through beautiful landscapes, including the rolling hills of Rwanda. Check into your lodge. Enjoy a relaxing dinner at the lodge and spend the night at the lodge, resting for the adventure ahead.

Start your day with an early breakfast at the lodge. Head to the park headquarters by 7:00 AM for a briefing by the park rangers. During the briefing, you will learn about the trekking procedures, safety guidelines, and the specific gorilla family you will track.

Embark on your gorilla trekking adventure at 8:00 AM. The trek through the dense forest can take from a few hours to most of the day, depending on the location of the gorillas. Spend an hour with a gorilla family, observing their behaviors and taking photographs. After the trek, return to the park headquarters. Take some time to rest and enjoy a packed lunch provided by your tour company. Reflect on the unforgettable experience and receive a certificate of participation.

Begin your journey back to Kigali in the early afternoon. The return drive offers another opportunity to take in the stunning scenery of  Rwanda. Arrive back in Kigali in the late afternoon or early evening. Your driver-guide will drop you off at your hotel or the agreed drop-off point, marking the end of your exhilarating 2 days gorilla trekking adventure.

Packing Essentials: Bring sturdy hiking boots, long-sleeved shirts, long pants, a rain jacket, insect repellent, sunscreen, and a hat. A good camera with extra batteries is also recommended.

Fitness Level: Ensure you are in good physical condition, as the gorilla trek can be demanding, involving steep and uneven terrain.

Respect Wildlife: Follow the guidelines provided during the briefing to ensure both your safety and the gorillas’ well-being. Maintain a respectful distance from the animals.
