Experience the African Savannah like never before on an exhilarating balloon safari in Rwanda. Joining us will provide you with a 45 minute journey like no other, gliding over the vast plains of Akagera National Park and witnessing the incredible wildlife from a bird’s eye view.
The excitement starts at 05:15am at Kayitaba, near the South Entrance gate of the park. Once there, you’ll be greeted by the balloon pilots, sipping some coffee and snacks and observing the inflation before the launch. Nothing compares to the moment when the balloon takes off and floats gracefully in the air, providing you with the chance to catch the sun rising over Lake Ihema and spot an abundance of wildlife from above, from giraffes, rhinos and buffaloes, to zebras, impalas, warthogs and lions.
After the magical flight, you can enjoy a classic champagne ceremony and a personalized flight certificate to remind you of this unique experience. For the best experience, warm clothing such as a coat or sweater is recommended, as the early morning chills are often present.
At US$ 450 for non-residents and US$ 350 for foreign residents, this is a once-in- a-lifetime opportunity to explore the park from a spectacular angle. Up to 10 guests can join the experience as two balloons are available, with a capacity of 4 and 6 respectively. Private and VIP balloon flights for exclusive use are also available by request. Each day, there is only one flight, and duration varies depending on the wind and weather conditions.
